Sire Beach - Lombok Island

The Villa Anandita is located at Sira (also spelt Sire), a spur of land bordered by a white ribbon of beach with magnificent coastline views. Next door to the villa is the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club, an 18-hole championship course, which is open to the public. On the other side (five minutes’ walk along the beach) is Hotel Tugu Lombok, a funky-fantastic, atmospheric living museum of extraordinary Indonesian antiques, with a restaurant and bar. Tanjung (4km) is an attractive Sasak market village with stalls overflowing with local produce; this is also home to The Oberoi Lombok Hotel, complete with a jetty – should you wish to arrive by boat, and a gourmet restaurant. A day trip to the Gili islands is recommended – either from Bangsal on the local ferry (be prepared for some hustling from the beach sellers) or via private boat charter, which the villa staff will happily organize.

Outdoor activities abound, from swimming in the 26m free-form pool to volleyball on the lawn, snorkeling, sea kayaking and bike rides through traditional Villages, to a round of golf on the adjacent and stunningly situated 18-hole championship course.

About The Villa Anandita
Anandita means bringer of happiness in the ancient Sanskrit language, and happiness is exactly what the European owners hope guests will discover when they stay at their much-loved four-bedroom beachside haven on Lombok’s north-west coast.

A series of single-storey living and sleeping pavilions leisurely spread throughout an enormous 1.5 hectares of lush green lawns planted with towering coconut palms make up this delicious tropical retreat. Each of the four unsuited bedrooms is housed in its own private pavilion in the gardens; king-size beds and convertible daybeds making these rooms very family-friendly. Kids (and adults too) will be spoiled for choice when it comes to planning their days: will it be a swim in the spectacular, 26m pool, complete with waterfall and jacuzzi, or beachcombing and kayaking on beautiful Sira beach, or an energetic game of soccer or volleyball in The Villa Anandita’s gorgeous gardens? Those seeking more languid pursuits can plug in their iPods and chill out to some favourite tunes, watch a movie on the large-screen satellite-channel TV/DVD player, or socialize over a game of billiards in the living pavilion.

As well as taking care of the villa itself, a team of friendly, thoughtful staff will happily entertain guests of all ages, creating coconut leaf toys and decorations with the children, making up numbers for volleyball games or turning tour guide for those who would like to explore further afield – made even easier courtesy of the services of a car and driver included in the villa rate. The kitchen is cleverly divided up for either guest or staff use and the villa cook is skilled at preparing a wide range of delicious local and international dishes – anything from formal dinners in the dining pavilion, to a romantic supper beside the beach, to a casual poolside barbecue.

Despite its idyllic, tropical castaway-island setting, The Villa Anandita is very accessible, being only a 40-minute drive from Lombok’s international airport in Mataram.

The Villa Anandita is approached by a private driveway, which leads into a secure parking area. A grand Porte cochere, bordered by a lily pond, heralds the entrance to the villa’s main pavilion via a pair of impressive wooden doors. From here, a colonnaded walkway sheltered by a glass-roofed pergola leads over the lily pond to the kitchen and the dining pavilion. The four standalone sleeping pavilions are positioned in the garden, well away from the main pavilion.

Accommodation
All four bedrooms, specially designed with a view to the sea and the pool, can accommodate one couple and 2 children and are equipped with an air-conditioner, a ceiling fan, a safe and a mini bar refrigerator. The sliding glass door allows a stunning view and instant access to the sea, the pool and the lawn. On the front of each pavilion, long chairs are set up under a parasol for guests to relax.

Bedroom 1
Includes a king size bed and 2 single children beds and is equipped with a TV set and DVD player. At the back, the glass sliding doors of the en-suite bathroom can be opened to lead to a private walled garden equipped with an outdoor shower nested among luxuriant exotic vegetation which can also be viewed and enjoyed from the classic bathtub.

Bedroom 2
Includes a king size bed and 2 single children beds. Sliding glass door allow a stunning view and instant access to the sea, the pool and the lawn. At the back, the glass sliding doors of the en-suite bathroom can be opened to lead to a private walled garden equipped with an outdoor shower nested among luxuriant exotic vegetation which can also be viewed and enjoyed from the classic bathtub.

Bedroom 3
Is the largest bedroom and it includes a king size bed, 2 single children beds and a long couch. It is equipped with a TV set and DVD player and has a large enclosed en-suite bathroom with a “rain feeling” shower.

Bedroom 4
Is the smallest bedroom and includes a king size bed and 1 single child bed. It is equipped with a TV set and DVD player. An outdoor garden bathroom enclosed by a tall wall decorated with huge primitive style stone carvings allow guests to feel the fresh air when bathing in a sunk-in terrazzo bathtub while watching the stars or the sea.

Terms and Conditions

Booking a Property is very different from booking a regular hotel room, especially with regard to payments and cancellations. Please do not just tick the box to accept these terms and conditions (as we all typically do!) – do please read the following conditions carefully.

Marketing Villas Limited (“MVL”) acts as an agent for Property owners (“Owner”) and their representatives (“Owner Representative”) in promoting Properties for rent and arranging bookings. Each time a Guest confirms a booking of a Property through MVL, a Rental Contract is entered into between the Owner or the Owner’s Representative for the agreed period (“Rental Period”), and the guest in whose name the booking is made (the “Guest”). Each time a Guest books a Property through MVL, the Guest is deemed to have agreed to these terms and conditions. The Rental Contract is not effective until MVL has confirmed the Guest’s booking in writing.

Payment

When the Guest makes a booking request, the Guest must make the appropriate deposit payment to MVL within 5 working days of availability confirmation. The following deposit payment must be received by MVL:

1. For rentals beginning more than 60 days after the date of the booking request – a deposit of 50% of the total rental amount is payable.

2. For rentals beginning 60 days or less after the date of the booking request – the total rental amount is payable as a deposit.

If the required deposit payment is not received within the 5 working day period, MVL reserves the right to void the Guest’s booking request.

Where a 50% deposit applies to the booking, the Guest must pay the remaining 50% balance not less than 60 days before the scheduled arrival date.

All payments must be made in US Dollars, unless otherwise agreed with MVL, and must be made in accordance with MVL’s payment instructions as set out in the Guest’s booking confirmation.

If payments are not made on or before the due dates as required herein, the Owner or the Owner’s Representative may cancel the booking, in which case this Rental Contract will be thereby terminated without any further notice required. Cancellation charges may apply as detailed below.
 

Arrival / Departure times

Typical check-out and check-in times are 12:00 noon and 3:00pm respectively unless stated otherwise. MVL will work with the Owner or Owner’s Representative to try to accommodate the Guest’s actual arrival and departure times, subject to availability. Please do advise MVL of any changes to the Guest’s schedule so every effort can be made to accommodate them.

The security deposit will normally be refunded at the end of the rental period, after deducting:

• all additional expenses incurred on the Guest’s behalf (e.g. additional charges for goods, services and staff which have not been directly paid by the Guest, and telephone and internet charges, if applicable)

• the cost of replacement or repair for any loss or damage to the Property or its surrounds or contents caused during the Rental Period. If this cost cannot be reasonably determined prior to the Guest’s departure, the Owner or the Owner’s Representative is entitled to withhold a reasonable estimate from the Guest’s security deposit, and will return any balance to the Guest as soon as possible after the actual cost has been determined.

Cancellations

If the Guest wishes to cancel a confirmed booking, written notice of cancellation must be sent to MVL. All cancellation notices received by MVL will be acknowledged in writing. It is strongly recommended that the Guest and all members of the Guest’s party purchase trip cancellation insurance.

Cancellation of a booking includes but is not limited to:

• Cancellation of one or more days of a booking

• An amendment of a booking so that none of the dates of the booking once amended fall within the same dates that originally constituted the booking

• Failure of all Guests to provide the required documentation on arrival (eg. Passports or suitable identification)

• Attempt by the Guest, their party or visitors to hold an event at the Property in breach of these Terms and Conditions or breach of any rules applicable to the Guest’s chosen Property.

In the event that the Guest cancels a confirmed booking, the following cancellation fees will generally apply:

• 20% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made more than 60 days before the start of the rental period

• 50% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 30 and 60 days before the start of the rental period

• 100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 1 and 29 days before the start of the rental period.

The applicable amount will be deducted from the deposit and moneys paid, and MVL will refund any remaining balance to the Guest.

Please note that these cancellation terms apply for regular booking periods. Special cancellation terms may apply for peak/high seasons and will be stated in the Property description, booking confirmation or reservation voucher. If the information in any of these is inconsistent, the most recently issued terms will prevail.
