Concept Hotel
a prelude, In 1894,
a priceless volume of an ancient manuscript was found at the
Puri Cakranegara in Lombok by a Dutch historian by the name of
Brandes. Soon enough, this manuscript was identified as the only
surviving and most important record of the ancient Hindu era of
Majapahit, a vast kingdom that was the most prosperous of all
times and reigned through most of the archipelago.
The manuscript is known as the Negara Krtagama, recorded years
of history telling from mouth to mouth; hundreds-years-old
archeological findings; discoveries among villages in Lombok
which were sequentially Buddhist, Hindu, and Bayanist among a
predominantly Moslem community around the island and the Chinese
Peranakan community in the town of Ampenan.
Within a period of 35 years following that, there had been
discoveries among the minor communities that had been deemed
'unimportant', although actually showed a strong cultural
pluralism in Lombok in the past.
In bringing back to life these ancient Hindu times in Lombok
before the occupation of the Dutch and the Balinese, Hotel Tugu
Lombok surrounds itself with chapters from the romantic epic of
the Mahabharata.

Bhagavat Gita suites are large suites housed in a beautiful
building from the colonial era, with high thatched ceilings,
tall antique doors and furnishings, private tropical gardens,
private lotus pond, two bathing areas with tubs carved out of

Dining at Tugu takes on a completely different concept than in
any other hotels in the island. Guests are welcomed to choose
wherever they like to dine. Beautiful private candlelit tables
can be arranged everywhere – in the gardens; at a private hut or
at the private candlelit beach under the stars etc. Furthermore,
instead of restaurants, the hotel provides various most unique
and authentic dining experiences. In each experience, the venue,
the atmosphere, the cuisine, the rituals, the costumes, the
tableware- all differ from one to another, depending to the
themes chosen. In some cases, a dinner for two can be served by
a parade of 12 waiters or a 14th century army of 30 people,
depicting the many forgotten romantic tales of Indonesia’s
history hundreds of years back.
Bale Kokok Pletok
A rustic open air
space with 15 meter tall thatched ceiling overlooking the ocean,
lotus ponds and the tropical landscape, serving fine
international, Asian-tinged, oriental and authentic Indonesian
cuisine for which Tugu is renown. The name ‘'Kokok Pletok’' is
derived from the sound that the rooster makes, and the
extraordinarily long roof is decorated by a giant Lombok rooster
that can be seen from the sea and miles away.
Lara Djonggrang
Bar
A traditional hut with hundred-year-old thick wooden benches and
tables, a long old teak bar, oil lamps and semi-open bamboo
windows and beautiful artworks. Lara Djonggrang bar is chicly
primitive, with sweet traditional tunes during the day and
sensual lounge music playing in the evening with a brick-walled
wine cellar.

Temple
The Hening Swarga temple, open air, inviting the Indian Ocean
breeze, a subtle hint of incenses and tropical flowers
surrounding the temple In its silence, one can hear the heavenly
song of Bhagavat Gita, sung by the gods and goddesses - just
like in the time of the Majapahit kingdom
The Sang Hyang Barong Temple
A reconstructed 200-year-old temple richly-ornamented with
carvings of old Hindu times and Ching dynasty, saved from the
times when the Dutch colonial soldiers attacked Lombok in 1894,
when the palace and the Hindu temples were destroyed and burnt
down. This temple with beautiful wooden flooring is now a
wedding and events venue for up to a hundred guests, as well as
a beautiful yoga and meditation space facing the lotus ponds and
the ocean.
Sunrise Picnic
The most unforgettable experience to start your day with
beautiful sunrise over the Mount Rinjani, on the traditional
wooden dragon head boat, Nogo Mesem. On the way to surrounding

prior to arrival date and for cancellation received less
than 10 days prior to arrival 1 (one) night room charge plus
applicable 21% for government tax & service charges will be
applied and in event of no show or on same day cancellation
notice is subject to full amount of total room booked.
During High & Peak Season (From 20th July to 31st August,
20th December to 5th January).
A cancellation fee of an amount equal to the entire value of
the booking will be applied for all cancellation less than
30 days of arrival.
